Buyer

1. Position Description

Maintain records of goods ordered and received. Locate vendors of materials, equipment or supplies, and interview them in order to determine product availability and terms of sales. Prepare and process requisitions and purchase orders for supplies and equipment. Control purchasing department budgets. Resolve vendor or contractor grievances and claims against suppliers.

2. Key Responsibilities

Work directly with the Supply Chain Manager, Engineering, Production Manager, and other departments for equipment and product purchases.

2. Requirements

Due to our status as Federal DOD Contractors, we are required to only hire US persons.

Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, production methods, and coordination of people and resources. Knowledge of raw materials, productions processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods. Critical thinking and negotiation skills. Strong communication skills, both written and oral. Excellent computer skills (Excel, MS Word, Power Point, Internal Company Operating Software).

Essential experience:

Equipment operations and purchasing experience.

Regular and Reliable attendance.

3. Preferred Experience

Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment.
